EcoGenics Skin Cleanser Review
Written by Karon on Thursday, June 18, 2009 20:34It’ll admit it… I hate getting ready in the mornings. I am waiting on the day that one of those wonderful gizmos the Jetson’s use hits the market. You know, the one that encapsulates you in a clamshell-type thingamabob, makes a couple of squeaks and snorts then pops you out dressed, hair done, makeup on and teeth brushed. I want that!
Since I can’t have it (just yet, anyway) I’m always on the lookout for ways to shorten my morning routine. EcoGenics Skin Cleanser does just that. How? Because it’s more than mere skin cleanser. It’s a face wash, toner and eye makeup remover all in one.
Pros
I really appreciate that it’s gentle enough to use on my whole face, including my eyes. So many of the other products tell you to avoid the eye area. It’s a pain to wash all of my face with one cleanser and just my eyes with some other product. This lets me do everything at once.
It works wonderfully. I have been using this for around 6 months now and I haven’t had even 1 breakout the entire time. When I used Clinique face soap with separate toner, etc., my chin would tend to have blemishes on a semi-regular basis.
EcoGenics Skin Cleanser doesn’t dry my face or sting my eyes. Plus, it lasts a long time. It comes in a pump which I keep in my shower. One pump, a splash of water and it lathers right up to clean my whole face. One bottle has 6.6 ounces and lasts me around 3 months.
Cons
It ain’t cheap! Depending on where you get it and how much you pay for shipping, it usually turns out to be about $30 total. (It sells for $35 plus shipping on the EcoGenics site. Don’t buy it there.) I get mine at Amazon.com.
But, actually, if you think about it, it probably does save you money. You’re getting a face wash (usually anywhere from $5 for the off-the-shelf stuff up to $40+ for other better brands) plus toner ($5 – $15) plus eye makeup remover ($4 for Avon, $35 for Lancome). So, if you were going to buy all those items anyway, this would be more economical.
