Strivectin SD Review

I’m constantly trying different products for my face and legs. So, I was excited when I found StriVectin-SD at my local TJ Maxx store. This stuff usually goes for about $60 – $75 per two-ounce bottle. I got mine for $29.

This will be a very short review. You ask, “Does StriVectin work?” I have no idea. I simply couldn’t get past the extreme stickiness left behind after applying this cream. The directions say to rub lightly in a circular motion until the cream is absorbed. The problem is; it never absorbs.

What’s left behind is a tacky mess that is difficult to wash off even with soap and hot water. I used this on the tops of my thighs to start with and – after two baths on the same day – still had gummy residue on my legs. I only used it about three times before I gave up in disgust. I wasn’t about to put it on my face.

After closer inspection of the bottle, I discovered that this product is primarily sunscreen. Remember when you were a little kid and went to the beach? Your mom would coat your nose with zinc oxide (that thick, white cream that wouldn’t come off in the water) so it didn’t get sunburned. That – along with titanium oxide – are the two active ingredients in StriVectin-SD as stated on the label.

The rest of the ingredients are those common to lotions including cocoa butter, almond oil, etc. StriVectin-SD also contains 5% striadril complex that is supposed to help with improving tone and texture of skin (read: wrinkles, cellulite, sagging, etc.).

I guess I’ll never know if StriVectin-SD works. I couldn’t take the feeling of my clothes sticking to me and not feeling clean.
